Starburst

Dedicated to the Johnston County (Benson, North Carolina) 8th Grade All County Middle School Band, Starburst was written to celebrate the 2017 middle school honor band. The composition features all sections of the band. It begins with a driving introduction that moves into a woodwind and horn feature and then moves to the trumpets. A brief woodwind interlude occurs and then a transition to a final recapitulation.
